Job Specifications

Reporting to the Officer-In-Charge of Legal Services, the job holder will be responsible for the following:

  1. Preparing and reviewing legal documents/instruments;
  2. Preparing legal opinions and legal briefs;
  3. Drafting legal documents, leases and contracts;
  4. Undertaking research on specific legal areas;
  5. Ensuring compliance with statutory and other legal requirements;
  6. Representing the council in litigations and other legal matters;
  7. Safeguarding the interest of the council in all legal matters;
  8. Liaising with the office of the attorney general on legal matters; and
  9. Ensuring safe custody of the Council’s legal documents and records.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

  1. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized institution;
  2. Post Graduate Diploma in Law;
  3. Valid legal practicing certificate;
  4. Proficiency in computer applications; and
  5. and Met the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
